Outside Plant Engineering Technicians are critical to delivering on i3's promise of the world's most advanced internet, television, and voice services with the industry's best customer service. The OSP Engineering Technician plans and prepares drawings for construction of new, or removal or rearrangement of existing fiber optic cables and conduits to obtain optimum and efficient use of communications facilities.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Plans and prepares drawings for construction of new fiber optic cables and conduits, with a focus on economical utilization of communications facilities.
- Plans and prepares drawings for removal or rearrangement of existing fiber optic cables and conduits.
- Review designs from vendors and peers to ensure suitability.
- Generates construction prints, permit drawings, Bills of Material, and other documents and diagrams as necessary to assign projects for construction.
- Enters field notes into the central system for accurate record-keeping regarding project decisions and history.
- Completes appropriate paperwork/system logs as required.
- Coordinates with stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure projects move forward on schedule.
- Provide assistance to other team members or perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications:
- Associate degree in a technical/science/mathematics field; and/or a minimum of 1-2 years experience related to network design or fieldwork
- Experience with CAD, 3GIS, ARCGIS, or other mapping and drafting software highly preferred, but not required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and Powerpoint)
- Better than average visual acuity when inspecting drawings and blueprints
